A customer originally used circular connectors imported from Italy for vehicle-mounted ticket printers, with a normal lead time of 30 weeks. After the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, the lead time became even more uncontrollable. To ensure timely delivery, we engaged in thorough communication with the customer to gain a full understanding of their application scenario. On this basis, we developed proprietary alternative connection solutions that reduced the lead time to 2 weeks and lowered material costs by 30%, helping the customer to reduce inventory and save purchasing costs.

One customer selected connectors similar to those of a well-known peer during the design phase. When it came to the detailed design, the customer discovered that the selected connectors were not waterproof and the single PIN current could not meet the application requirements. To address the challenges faced by the customer without changing the connectors’ external dimensions or PCB layout, we customized and designed connectors that met the relevant requirements.
